Portugal - a country of explorers

With the size of 90,000 square kilometers, Portugal hardly covers one fifth of the spanish surface, but it has more than 800 km of coastline. Since the 15th century the country has become one of the greatest seafaring nations:

Bartolomeu Perestrelo - Christopher Columbus' father-in-law - was one of the discoverers of the flower island Madeira. Dias rounded the Cape of Good Hope, Vasco da Gama explored the sea route to India and shortly after that Pedro Àlvares Cabral discovered Brazil. Magellan even circumnavigated the world.

In our restaurant La Sepia we would like continue Portugal’s spirit of discovery together with you. With tasty ingredients, daily fresh preparation and the love of cooking, we will invite you on a memorable journey of discovery of portuguese cuisine.

But just recently, the Portuguese cuisine has taken up the spirit of discovery and has undergone a wonderful change:

The dishes appear lighter and more exciting, not as a complete turn questioning everything, but as a culinary evolution, which sophisticatedly evolves everything “good” and “original” and experiments with the ingredients, the preparation and the spices.
